چکیده

Abstract The aim of the current study was to evaluate therapeutic potentials Hydroxyquinoline Sulfanilamide (HSM) for Alzheimer’s disease in a mice model Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes. antioxidant analysis brain homogenates carried out by catalase (CAT) assay, reduced glutathione (GSH) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) assay. Biochemical blood plasma conducted peroxidase (POD) assay superoxide dismutase (SOD) expression proteins evaluated using Western Blotting analysis. administration HSM increased activity enzymes including CAT, SOD, GSH, POD lowered LPO actions. These findings indicate that STZ may lead diabetes mice, followed hypercholesterolemia, expressed as triglycerides blood. However, significantly decreased STZ-induced hyperglycemia hypercholesterolemia adult albino mice. data confirmed oxidative stress, inhibited phosphorylated JNK, NF-kB, upregulated Nrf-2 improve restore synapse memory defects Conclusively, suggested is safe, novel, potential drug candidate against metabolic dysfunction induced cognitive impairment.

Metformin ameliorates insulitis in STZ-induced diabetic mice

BACKGROUND & AIMS Metformin is currently the most widely used first-line hypoglycemic agent for diabetes mellitus. Besides glucose-lowering action, there is increasingly interest in the potential anti-inflammatory action of this drug. In the present study, we investigated the actions of metformin on experimental insulitis using STZ-induced diabetic mice. METHODS Mice with acute diabetes induc...

Ursolic acid attenuates beta-amyloid-induced memory impairment in mice.

OBJECTIVE Increasing evidence demonstrates that oxidative stress and inflammatory are involved in amyloid β (Aβ)-induced memory impairments. Ursolic acid (UA), a triterpenoid compound, has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. However, it remains unclear whether UA attenuates Aβ-induced neurotoxicity. METHOD The aggregated Aβ25-35 was intracerebroventricularly administered to m...

Kisspeptin-13 ameliorates memory impairment induced by streptozotocin in male rats via cholinergic system

Introduction: Kisspeptin-13 (KP-13) is a novel endogenous factor, increases synaptic transmission and is involved in several behavioral functions such as anxiety, locomotion, epilepsy and avoidance learning. However, the role of this peptide on cognition has not been well clarified yet. Here we studied the effect of kisspeptin-13 pretreatment on spatial learning and also interaction with cholin...

effect of magnesium oxide nanoparticles on atropine-induced memory impairment in adult male mice

materials and methods in this experimental study, nmri male mice were placed in groups receiving atropine (0.1 and 1 mg/kg), recipient of mgo-n (1, 2.5, and 5 mg/kg) and groups receiving atropine in effective dose and different doses of mgo-n were used. saline was used as a vehicle for drugs in the control groups. memory was evaluated with a step-down apparatus to determine the coming down late...

TRPV1-mediated UCP2 upregulation ameliorates hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunction

BACKGROUND Diabetic cardiovascular complications are characterised by oxidative stress-induced endothelial dysfunction. Uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) is a regulator of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and can antagonise oxidative stress, but approaches that enhance the activity of UCP2 to inhibit ROS are scarce. Our previous studies show that activation of transient receptor...
